Position: Scholarship

Positions Available: 3 – 5
Term: 1 year, renewable
Working with the Program Director, the Shafer Leadership Academy Ambassadors for Scholarship will assist with evaluating scholarship applicants for the Emergence, Allegiance, Ingenuity, and Fusion programs. The Scholarship Committee will meet four times a year to review the scholarship applicants and make recommendations to the Executive Director on scholarship awards. Scholarship Committee members will receive applicant information at least one week before each Committee meeting. The scholarship committee will also be responsible for recommending potential organizations / target populations for scholarship support. It is vital for Scholarship Committee members to maintain confidentiality.
Objectives
- Evaluate scholarship applicants
- Make recommendations to SLA staff on award distributions
- Identify / recommend target populations for future scholarship support
- Attend the mandatory training provided by SLA staff
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Experience with SLA programs
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (Preferred)
- Experience serving on a scholarship committee of any kind
- Experience receiving a scholarship
- Strong knowledge of Delaware County/ ECI corporations
- Strong knowledge of Delaware County/ ECI non-profits
- Strong knowledge of Delaware County/ ECI small businesses
Compensation
This is a volunteer role, however Scholarship Committee members will be provided meals during Committee meetings.
